The Senior Order Fulfillment Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for bridging the gap between digital demand and physical execution. In the fast-paced cannabis landscape, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of an order—from the moment a customer clicks "buy" to the point of final hand-off or delivery. You will be directly accountable for labor cost optimization, productivity improvements, and cost-to-serve reductions.
You aren't just managing a shared services team; you are optimizing a high-compliance retail engine. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure everything is accounted for, every local regulation is met, and every customer receives a seamless, premium experience.
Main Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Lead teams through growth, transition, and scale, while being able to deal with operational ambiguity throughout.
- Bridge the gap between strategy and day-to-day execution - this role requires a leader who can zoom out to design systems and zoom in to ensure they actually work on the front lines.
- Manage and optimize the order fulfillment process from order receipt to packaging and dispatch for wholesale, retail, and any other channels.
- Build and maintain scalable processes that balance speed, quality, and cost.
- Develop and enforce efficient picking, packing, and labeling procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to state standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with sales, production, and retail leadership teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing and delivery.
- Implement and manage quality control checks throughout the fulfillment process to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Develop SOPs, tooling, and performance expectations as the operation scales.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any fulfillment or other related issues, escalating as necessary.
Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and local cannabis regulations, including but not limited to inventory reporting, packaging, labeling, and transportation guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all inventory and fulfillment activities for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to stay informed of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to processes.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols within the fulfillment areas to prevent diversion and ensure product safety.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections and audits.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with all managers, staff, and cross-functional teams to ensure proper operations of the company.
- Translate high-level goals into clear, practical expectations for frontline execution.
- Train, mentor, and supervise a team of fulfillment associates.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
- Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Process Improvement & Technology:
- Surfacing & tracking KPI's - establishing clear success metrics for people, processes, and performance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve fulfillment, and logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve accuracy while establishing continued up-scaling.
- Design, implement, and continuously refine end-to-end operational workflows.
- Identify, quantify, and execute cost-savings opportunities across operations.
- Own and deliver against clearly defined cost-savings and efficiency targets.
- Use data to diagnose issues, prioritize solutions, and own performance outcomes.
- Identify bottlenecks and remove friction across people, process, and space.
- Identify and implement appropriate technology solutions to streamline operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations or other related fields are strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, and inventory management within cannabis, food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, or supplementals.
- Proven expertise in process optimization, automation, and/or continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to drive data-driven decision-making, with experience in KPI tracking, reporting, and performance optimization.
- Previous experience in being willing and able to engage directly with frontline operators to understand the “on-the-ground realities”
- Strong proficiency with data optimization software such as Excel/Google Suite etc
- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally lift totes containing product weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must pass a pre-employment/post-offer background check
- Must be 21 years of age or older
